Phumzile, a young man living with HIV, has just produced a brief video diary detailing the road he has travelled since discovering his illness and overcoming the stigma attached to it – still a huge obstacle in South Africa – by revealing his status to his family.

Giggs sits alongside Phumzile in the spartan classroom of a comprehensive school in Gugulethu, a township 15km outside Cape Town. The Manchester United midfielder has met Nelson Mandela and witnessed some of football's greatest players at close hand, yet his facial expression when he turns to Phumzile at the end of his story betrays a humbled man in the presence of someone of true substance. "Seeing and hearing the lad's story showed what bravery is all about and what being a man is about," Giggs said. "He shared what he has been through and that took so much courage.

Manchester United and Wales international footballer Ryan Giggs has been awarded an honorary degree for his contribution to sport and charitable causes.

Giggs, 33, was made a master of arts by the University of Salford in a ceremony at the Lowry Theatre.

Collecting his award, Giggs said: "I'm really pleased to accept this degree.

"When I started my career as a professional footballer I didn't envisage that one day I'd be made master of arts.

"I grew up in Salford and it's been a big part of my life for 30 years, so it's great to be a part of Salford University now."

[Puffs his cheeks] A little! I had a coaching course at Lilleshall, got the Reserves job, had a baby… so it’s quite busy at the moment. I might get one Friday night off, if Di Law (from Ole’s testimonial committee) lets me! I’m not complaining. I wanted the coaching course, the Reserves job, this testimonial – and, of course, the baby – so you have to be prepared to work for them.

Are you looking forward to your testimonial?
The thing I’m thinking about most is whether I’m going to last and do myself justice on the pitch. I’m a bit worried about that, but it’ll be a good day for my family. I’ve spoken to Roy [Keane] about his testimonial and he said it’s a great family day, so from that aspect I can’t wait.

Speaking exclusively to the Advertiser after his side beat Burscough 3-1, the 35-year-old Norwegian also admitted to having only heard of the Linnets two weeks ago.

But after his players were required to battle hard for their win, Solskjaer is now able to pin point Burscough on the footballing map.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a winning start to life as a manager as the Reds' Reserves posted a 3-1 victory at Burscough on Saturday.

Goals from Tom Cleverley, Febian Brandy and Rodrigo Possebon gave United victory despite some good pressure from the hosts, who pulled a late goal back through David Brookes.

It took just seven minutes for Cleverley to notch the first goal of the Solskjaer regime, turning smartly and firing home from 15 yards.

Although the hosts rallied well, Brandy doubled the Reds' advantage just before the interval when he fired past Burscough keeper Ian Lowe.

Fifteen minutes after the interval, Possebon put the game to bed with a stunning goal. Picking the ball up 25 yards from goal, the Brazilian midfielder smashed a superb dipping effort into the corner of the goal.

Although the Reds dominated the remainder of the game, Brookes had the final say when he slipped the ball under Ron-Robert Zieler to salvage some rewards for the hosts' spirited performance.

一年一度的牛奶杯，是一项国际性的青少年足球赛事，在北爱尔兰举行，很多大牌球星当年都是从牛奶杯崭露头角，如92帮、鲁尼、乔.科尔、欧文等等...

赛事分为U-19组（Elite，以国家队的形式参赛）、U-16组（Premier）和U-14组（Junior），其中曼联曾在91年和03年获得U-16组的冠军。

每一年开幕的时候都会邀请一个开幕嘉宾，今年牛奶杯则是邀请了小索来担任><

MANCHESTER United favourite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will open the Milk Cup in Coleraine on Sunday, July 27.

Solskjaer's arrival coincides with the first ever appearance of a club from his home country at the event.

Norwegian outfit Rosenborg are up against clubs of the calibre of Chelsea, Everton, holders Guadalajara, Maccabi Haifa and Brondby in the Junior section.

Past winners Manchester United line up in the Premier event and Solskjaer, who won 67 caps for Norway, says: "This is one of the best competitions in world youth football.

"I know many of our players have competed at the Milk Cup over the years including Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville.

Gary Neville expects United’s reserves to benefit from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s positive approach to his work.

The Reds’ skipper believes Solskjaer will bring the best out of his young players because he “makes you feel good all the time”.

“Ole is a great person and he will be a great coach and a great influence on those lads in the reserves,” Neville said in an exclusive MUTV interview.

“Last season he worked with me quite a lot along with Rene (Meulensteen) in coming back from injury and he also worked with the first team.

“I really enjoyed working with him because he’s just a good person to be around. Ole makes you feel good all the time and that’s what he’ll do with the reserves.”

The hard work has already begun for the United squad after they reported back for pre-season training on Wednesday.

Ryan Giggs joined up with his team-mates - minus the Euro 2008 contingent - back at Carrington for the start of a rigorous regime ahead of the 2008/09 campaign.

The Welshman enjoyed a six-week rest after last season's triumphant exploits, including a relaxing break with his family in Portugal. But he admits that's soon forgotten once the squad's punishing pre-season schedule begins.

"Obviously last season ended brilliantly for the team and for myself, and it’s good to be back, but I’m not really looking forward to pre-season training," he told ManUtd.com.

"Wednesday was just testing to see where your fitness is at. Thursday is another treadmill fitness test which will be quite hard, and that will start to build things up. I’m not really looking forward to it, but you’ve just got to get through it haven’t you?

"Long distance running gets easier as you get older, I think, it’s just the quicker stuff that is quite hard. But you’ve done it all before and just use your experience to get through it."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is relishing the chance to start working with United's Reserves this week.

The Norwegian begins full-time training with his young charges when they return to the Carrington training complex on Tuesday, and he warns that they will need to match his burning ambition to succeed.

"I’m really looking forward to it," he told Inside United. "It’s a great challenge. I felt that I needed a little bit more responsibility than I had, and when the club asked I was delighted, it’s a great step for me.

"It is a big job and a nice job to have - and it’s also a great time to have those players. They’re all 18 or 19, on the verge of breaking into first team football either here or on loan at other clubs, so you’ve got determined, hungry boys who match my ambition."

With a gruelling pre-season fitness regime designed to quickly get the players up to speed, Solskjaer admits that he will be a harsh task master.

"I think you need to push them a bit," he said. "But the boys want to be pushed as well. It’s not a doddle being a professional footballer, so I think they’ll have their fair share of sweat!"

据说这50个孩子是从挪威全国各地选出来的，如今已经加入MU青年队2年的Magnus小盆友就是出自04年左右的训练营。希望这次某索能够再发现好的苗子，再带到MU来>_<

Conducted at the gorgeous botanical gardens of the Monte do Casal hotel, it was a small, elegant gathering, with only around 30 hand-picked guests, including Roy Keane, Andy Cole and Phil Neville.

The religious ceremony follows the couple's secret wedding in London last week.

I tried to do pre-season after I had an operation in the summer, during a training session I broke down, if you like I realised I'm just fooling myself trying to keep going. I went to see the manager if I can play on and that was it, he said why dont you join my coaching staff? And that was it.

As soon as I retired I was relieved, I was wondering why that is, and its because my knee wasnt right enough to be performing well enough, I could look myself in the mirror and say I did what I could to become the player I had the potential to be.

It was eleven years, was a fantastic time, fantastic to play, obviously my debut, remembering warming up and scoring in my debut, winning a trophy in my first season, the winning goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup, scoring 4 goals against Forrest, winning goal in the champions league, so there's so many highs, the high for me was last season when I scored against Newcastle and walking off the pitch seeing my son being proud of his dad, that was a big inspiration & motivation for me beacuse my dad was a wrestler, and a successful one, but I've never seen him wrestle, but I've seen all the newspaper clips, thats my only vision of him, but my little Noah will remeber his dad as a player for Man United, and as a player who scored and won the European Championship.

In typically selfless fashion, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has even found a way to make his own testimonial about someone else.

With sizeable proceeds from the event earmarked for building schools in Angola, Uganda and Mozambique, United's August date with Espanyol is much more than just a chance for fans to salute a genuine club legend.

"It is even more fulfilling in a way than anything I did as a player," said Solskjaer. "As a footballer, you work hard and strive for your goals. You can achieve great things. But I always say football is the most important thing that is not important in life.

"School and education are important and it gives me a lot better feeling to eventually be able to give this chance to the children over there.

WHEN Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fleetingly considered leaving Manchester United, he quickly asked himself 'Why?', which probably explains how he ended up spending the best years of his career at Old Trafford.

The United fans get their chance to honour the 1999 Champions League Final hero on August 2, when he hopes to take the field for one last time in his testimonial with Espanyol at Old Trafford.

It will be the best way to say goodbye after a playing career that was ended by a long-term knee injury in September, although Solskjaer remains very much at the heart of United, taking on reserve team coaching duties from the start of next season.

Solskjaer is too much of a diplomat to offer any assessment of Cristiano Ronaldo's current situation, or even compare the winger's situation with that of his own.

Football stars help students work towards their goals

YOUNG footballers at a Nuneaton college have had the chance to train with some of the biggest names in the game.

The students from North Warwickshire and Hinckley College travelled to the UK's National Sports Centre at Lilleshall, in Shropshire.

The college's football academy players took part in training sessions given by footballers taking the A Licence, one of the highest FA qualifications.

The students had the opportunity to train with and be coached by international players such as Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Ole Solskjaer, Gus Poyet, Roberto Di Matteo and other well-known ex-Premier League players.

Jose Ascensao, head coach of the college academy, said: "We were really pleased to be able to work with the FA on this and other top-class events and provide our students with a fantastic chance to learn from world-class coaches.

"We feel this illustrates the wide range of training and opportunities we provide at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College."

Trials for North Warwickshire and Hinckley College's Football Academy will be held this Saturday and on Saturday, June 21, starting at 10am and finishing at 12.30pm.

按照时间来算的话，某索这家伙果然是一退役就忙着造人啊...囧不过孩子的生日还真是符合小索一贯的习惯，除了Noah是6月9号（也就是昨天，生日快乐！），Karna是3月3号，另两只“儿子”中小王子是8月8号，热刺小盆友是9月9号.....orz

希望这第3只小家伙能够长得像他爸爸一样阳光，表再像他爹地了，小阴天有Noah一只就够了...orz

希望8月2号某索的纪念赛时能抱出来给我们看看啊~~~~~

无聊贴个虽然很短但是我非常喜欢的视频，BBC出品~

这是去年小索退役时BBC制作的，虽然极短，但依然很有爱，小男孩唱的《You are my Solskjaer》我很喜欢，另外这个视频是在“Please don't take my Solskjaer away”的歌声中以吉索的抱抱结尾的，感觉就好像是在说某吉的心声一样，非常萌！

搜狐体育讯曼联接连夺取英超和欧冠两顶桂冠，奉送给球迷一个几近完美的07-08赛季，当然也令红魔在竞技场上的圈钱能力达到新的高度，据英国euFootball网站23日估算的数据（一家专门研究足球商业与市场的权威机构），曼联不计门票和商业收入，光是奖金和电视转播费分红的收入就有8500万英镑，整整比上赛季多出了2200万英镑，如此令人兴奋的“钱景”，让格雷泽家族乐得合不拢嘴，他们在有效缓解银行催债危机的同时，将主动掏出约700万英镑给球员发放之前承诺的奖金，而刚刚为祖国地震灾区捐款两万的曼联“第四前锋”董方卓，则有望分到大约5万英镑。

英国《太阳报》5月初便透露，根据赛季开始前曼联球员和老板格雷泽达成的协议，若红魔能在联赛和欧冠两条战线问鼎，参加绝大部分比赛的主力球员将得到25万英镑的奖金，比如C罗、鲁尼、费迪南德、范德萨、埃弗拉、特维斯等人，而斯科尔斯、吉格斯这两个仍可在关键场次左右局面的功勋老臣也可拿到相同的数额，主力替补朴智星、库茨扎克、安德森、纳尼、弗莱彻等人可以获得15到20万镑不等，而长期养伤的队长内维尔，以及董方卓、威尔贝克、伊尔格斯等身在一队但出场机会较少的球员可以拿5万英镑左右（约合70万人民币）。

25万镑对周薪10万镑的C罗和鲁尼至多算精神鼓励，而对于周薪不足8000英镑的董方卓来说，5万英镑奖金却能解决大问题，这几乎相当于他两个月的收入，既能缓解他采购时尚用品和汽车带来的经济压力，亦可激励其训练和实战踢出更好的状态，向国家队大哥孙继海和郑智看齐、为四川地震灾区追加捐款也有了相当的底气。

But Manchester United’s homecoming was a largely subdued, silent and brief affair of the players and staff only pausing for a matter of minutes for photographers and film crews before being whisked off in a bus.

Hordes of Manchester United fans had gathered inside the arrival lounge of Terminal One in the hope that the team would walk through the main passenger gates.

With an imminent homecoming parade appearing to be doomed, they knew it would be their only chance to catch a glimpse of the champions - and the latest addition to the Old Trafford silverware, the European Cup.

Manchester United have confirmed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be in charge of their reserves next season.

The former Red Devils striker is currently coaching the club's attacking unit, but will be handed greater responsibility from next year.

The Norwegian is a cult hero at Old Trafford after scoring the winning goal in the 1999 UEFA Champions League final and only retired from playing at the start of the 2007/08 campaign.

He has been taking his coaching badges since stepping out of the limelight and Sir Alex Ferguson believes the mild-mannered forward has all the attributes to forge a successful management career in the future.

"We see this as a progressive move as Ole finalises getting his coaching badges," said the United boss.

"He is doing very well and we are very pleased because he has the right character.

"One thing you need in coaching is patience and Ole has that in abundance."

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has revealed how a winning goal in a Champions League final can change your life.

And if it does not change yours, it sure changes the lives of everyone who was there to witness it.

Solskjaer will live forever in Manchester United legend for his injury-time strike against Bayern Munich in 1999.

If he ever forgets about it for a minute, there are plenty of people around to remind him about the most famous toe-poke in history.

Solskjaer said: “Most of the people I meet mention the night in Barcelona and give me the thumbs up, saying, ‘Thanks for giving me the best night of my life — but please don’t tell my wife!’

“That’s the comment they always come up with, ‘It’s even better than my wedding night’. （依然是很RP啊囧）

“And after a while you maybe start believing it. You believe that it was a great, great night for many, many people.

“I didn’t realise it at the time. I just played a game, won a game. You’re just so focused when you’re in the middle of it.

Solskjaer had to retire this season due to a persistent knee problem but has been kept on at the club as a coach.

He will be in Moscow on Wednesday night to cheer United.

And he has a message for those who do not make the first XI: ‘You can still be a hero on the night’.

Just as he was coming on with 15 minutes to go with the game seemingly up.

Solskjaer, 35, insisted: “The current players look at me as an example, that there is a chance for them to be a big part of this.

“Giggsy showed it last week when he came on and scored the goal that won the league against Wigan.
