Interview with Manchester United reserve team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Burscough's defeat

MANCHESTER United reserve team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that he is revelling in his new role.

Speaking exclusively to the Advertiser after his side beat Burscough 3-1, the 35-year-old Norwegian also admitted to having only heard of the Linnets two weeks ago.

But after his players were required to battle hard for their win, Solskjaer is now able to pin point Burscough on the footballing map.

Solskjaer paid tribute to the Linnets after he felt the Blue Square North side provided worthy opposition to his professional outfit.

He said: "I think Burscough gave us a good test today and did really, really well. Two weeks ago we didn’t know about these lads and their history.

"I very much enjoyed my first game in charge and had been looking forward to the game for a long time, we’ve been in pre season training for two weeks now and the lads just want to start playing games.

"At times we looked like a Manchester United side but sometimes we dwelled too much on the ball."
